Running Order

As a group we create a detailed running order for the 30 minute documentary that would feature on Channel 4.
 It includes what we are going to use and the order in which they will be used throughout the documentary.

Voice over introducing topic and what will be covered in the documentary. Montage of the general public and places relevant to regrets -  Tattoo parlour, pub, School ect.

Vox pop’s of public sharing their regrets.
(20 seconds)
Opening titles  
(5 seconds)
Slow cross fading across articles about biggest regrets, finishing on “Top Five Regrets of the dying has brought me to tears article”.
(15 seconds)
Cut back and forward between interviews with Dawn Weller and Sharon Kenyon- reconstructions of the same stories if possible.
(35 seconds)
Voice over introducing the next section- montage of images representing regret.
(10 seconds)
Interview with Miss Folan talking about how catholics and christians deal with regret
 (35 seconds)
Voice over introducing some of the most common regrets, including career and smoking.
(20 seconds)
Interview with Mr Clark- with cut aways of him teaching- Interview to stress it’s too late to change.

Voice over introducing regret of smoking, but it’s possible to change.

Interview with Layla Smith about giving up smoking- cut aways of smoking.

Voice over talking about how educational regrets are the most common and why people make that mistake and while the voice over is playing there will be a panning shot  of pupils in lessons.

There will then be a cut away to the headteacher of Weatherhead High School talking about how the school are going to start making big changes to offer more support to year 10 and 11 students to help them take the right career path to minimise them taking the wrong career path while he is speaking there will be cut aways to pupils sitting down talking to their teachers.

Establishing shot of Liverpool Crown Court with a voice over talking about what it would be like to live with guilt everyday knowing that what you’re doing is bad for the world.

Cut to Yanos Yanonirides who will talk about his everyday job of being a defence lawyer and if he lives his life with guilt knowing he has helped guilty criminals walk free of charges during him speaking there will be cut aways to head shots of criminals he has got off knowing they are guilty. He will mainly discuss the regret of becoming a defence lawyer.

Interview with Yanos’ wife with her answering questions about how she feels about her husband’s job role.

Cut away showing establishing shot of outside a church then cut to Yanos inside at a church service with a slow zoom into his facial expressions with gospel music playing over the footage.

Cut to an interview with the priest talking about forgiveness and confessions.

Montage of images of the three celebrities plastic surgery which they have just talked about regretting with a voice over with statistics of how the percentage of celebrities who get plastic surgery and regret it.

Fade out on the last image and when the fade out starts so will the soundtrack edith piaf non je ne regrette rien.
(10 seconds)
Establishing shots of a park (with the soundtrack still playing) then cut to a long shot of Jean Mcgrath walking in the park with a voice over explaining how at the age of 89 she has always lived her life with no regrets.
(1 minute)
Cut to Jean sitting on bench talking about her passionate view on her long life which she has lived with no regrets with cuts to images of her in her younger days.
(2 minutes)
Vox pops of us asking members of the public if they could live their life with no regrets and if not ask why.
(1 minute 20 secs)
Interview with a psychologist talking about the psychology of regret with cuts to statistics and books.
(2 minutes)
Montage of quotes from famous people about regrets relating to the psychologist’s topic of speech this will still have the voice over of the psychologist speaking.
(30 seconds)
Cuts back to all the people we have had sit down interviews with (Dawn Weller, Sharon Kenyon, Miss Ferby, Alastair Kenyon, Cassie Ratray, Mr Diamond, Yanos Yanonirides, Priest, Jean Mcgrath and a  psychologist during the documentary asking them all the same question which will be if they think it’s possible for them to live their whole life without a regret.
(2 minutes 30 secs)
Fade out from the last interview straight to a fade in of an extreme close up of quote about having no regrets and a slow zoom out so the whole quote will become readable the soundtrack Dappy No Regrets (chorus) will be played in the background.
